Surface-treated GCC
Coated calcium carbonate
Premium coated calcium carbonate with enhanced dispersion, compatibility and performance characteristics for demanding polymer and coating applications.
Overview
Our coated calcium carbonate is surface-treated with stearic acid or other organic coatings to improve compatibility with polymer matrices, enhance dispersion, reduce moisture absorption and optimize processing characteristics. This makes it ideal for high-performance applications where standard calcium carbonate may not meet requirements.
Applications
- Engineering Plastics — improved impact strength and surface finish
- PVC Compounds — enhanced processing and mechanical properties
- Polypropylene & Polyethylene — better dispersion and compatibility
- Masterbatches — superior color dispersion and processing
- High-Performance Coatings — improved rheology and film properties
- Rubber Compounds — enhanced reinforcement and processing

- Improved Processing: Better flow characteristics and reduced equipment wear during compounding
- Cost-Effective Performance: Achieves premium results at competitive pricing compared to uncoated alternatives
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Why use coated CaCO3 instead of uncoated?
The organic coating improves dispersion in polymers, reduces moisture pickup and helps processing in PVC, PP, PE and masterbatch.
What coating level do you offer?
Typical stearic-acid coating is 0.5–2.0% and can be customised.
